Beijing intoxication
-
When you arrive at Beijing international airport, you feel
as if you are in the studio set of the old movie. International airports
in advanced countries are similar. They have modern buildings and
facilities with many fancy shops and restaurants. The Beijing airport
is more like an old railway station. When I first stepped in the
airport, I felt very lonely and sad. One of the reasons was
that I thought Beijing was a country which only could build such a shabby
building. But walking in this stuidio-set like airport, I felt I
were held in warm and calm atmosphere. A Japanese famous author,
Osamu Dazai who was famous for a sense of the aesthetic wrote to his friend,
Saisei Muroo "I have been here for three days and am already intoxicated
with Beijing." This feeling is so callled "Beijing intoxication"
named by Chen Chen The way to the central city from
the airport, you will see many phases of Beijing. Beijing is a breathtakingly
beautiful city. Once you walk in Hutong, you are not able to leave
the city.

stuff

Chinese are very clever fingered people. Not only famous
embroidery of Shantou and Suzhou, but also small cheap toys are breathtaking
arts. Children fly artistically decorated kites in Tiananmen
Square or play with various shaped handcrafts made of leaves, paper and
bamboo. Those small toys are sold by people on the main streets at
1 or 2 yuan (1 yuan = a dime = JP\15).

Kite
flying

When you step into the Tianamen Squire, you will find many
various shaped kites flying in the air. They are made in three dimensions
which are quite different from our familiar kites. Each kite has
a reel which makes you fly a kite very easily. You find eagle, butterfly,
goldfish, dragonfly and other animals flying high up in the sky.
You can get those kites there from a vendor at the price from 35 yuan and
above depending on your negotiating ability. Chinese children
also fly them on pedestrian bridges and anywhere they like.....
Fun
stuff on the streets

Besides food vendors, you also find many people selling various
small souvenirs and toys on any street in Beijing. When you walk
with a kid, you probably need 1 yuan every time you see them....depending
on your discipline of your child. They are made and designed very
simply but quite interesting. You will be again impressed by the
idea of Chinese.

Beijing Amusement Park
-
You probably think an amusement park in Beijing is not fun.
You are wrong. Of course they are quite different from modern Disneyland,
but their unique idea covers the drawbacks. Talking about a
jet coaster, the mechanical technology is very simple and old-fashioned.
Moreover we are afraid of their QC level. It is very scary...
whoops, I am just kidding. The facility itself is not state of the
art, but their software is unique and imaginary which makes us quite satisfied.
Though I know most of the world-famous amusement parks such as Disneyland
and Universal Studio, I enjoyed the park very much.
